During lockdown, more and more people have discovered the benefit of green spaces and gardens to their emotional well-being.

A big part of this has been an appreciation of the role of trees, from a rise in an interest in forest bathing – the Japanese practice walking mindfully among trees – to tree-hugging in Israel, many of us have discovered the benefit of our leafy friends.

Living in Milton Keynes we are particularly well-blessed with trees. With over 22 million trees across the town we all have trees in our local area, and many of us have them in our gardens. Trees need care though, and a neglected tree is an unhappy tree.

While extra time at home may have given you more time to appreciate the trees in your garden or local area, lockdown restrictions and social distancing guidelines have made it more difficult to get help if you’ve spotted something wrong, or have trees that have grown significantly and need some work.

However, if you notice a diseased or damaged tree and you don’t get it sorted out you could be storing up problems for the future.

That’s why local Milton Keynes tree surgeons Kings Landscapes are encouraging local homeowners to get help without having to make personal contact to get a quote by using their online tree surgery tool.

David Houghton, MD from Kings Landscapes, said: “If you leave it too long before addressing issues with trees you could discover that it’s too late. Things that can be resolved easily in the early days may escalate meaning that a tree has to be felled. To avoid that we’re inviting Milton Keynes residents with concerns about their trees to send us pictures of any tree work needed, or of their damaged or diseased trees. Then we’ll send them an idea of what their options are, together with a free no-obligation quote for work.”

Using the Kings Landscapes online tool is simple. You just take pictures of the trees and upload them on the site and answer a few quick questions. Once the expert tree surgeons at Kings Landscapes have taken a look, they’ll let you know what the problem is and how much it will cost to put it right.

If you do decide to go ahead with the work, all Kings Landscape’s services are carried out within social distancing guidelines. In most cases you won’t need to have any direct contact at all with the tree surgeons, as work is obviously carried out outside and all communication and payment can be done remotely. Kings Landscapes are also committed to using environmentally friendly techniques where possible, which includes the use of battery and electric powered equipment to minimise carbon emissions.
