Mr Hollinrake was recently given a tour round the Robson Spring Wood at Sproxton, near Helmsley, to learn how conservationists are returning native species such as ash, oak and alder to the woodland.

Mr Hollinrake met with the Woodland Trust Head of Government Affairs, James Cooper, and the woods’ site manager, Mark Feather, and said the environmental and human threats that trees face cannot be forgotten.

Mr Hollinrake pledged work with the Trust on its aim.
